Aksaray University Department of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology started matriculation in programs of license, master with thesis and master’s without thesis and Ph.D. Training activities of our department run with 6 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 3 research assistants.
There are two departments of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology and nanotechnology.
Training activities are successfully maintained at the Department of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology that it is facilitated education opportunity for mean 40 students each year.
Biotechnology and Molecular Biology field of sciences are shown priority areas, in this context, our department aim training persons who contribute to R&D activities in areas of Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Molecular Biology, and our department aim developing economic and technological solutions to many problems in many areas as health, environment, food, and agriculture. Our graduate students who have the accumulation of knowledge will have qualities that discharge our country’s technological needs.
Department of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology started to give education in a 2013-2014 academic year. 25 percent of our academic program which is consisting of compulsory courses and optional courses and it is composed of optional courses that are useful for concern and career of students and updated by lecturers each year. My undergraduates have to pass the lessons (total 148 credits) that are compulsory lessons (109 credits) and optional courses (39 credits).
Also since 2013-2014 academic year, students who are graduate from several universities compatible with department enroll Aksaray University Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology and total registered 34 students (14 students at class period and 18 students at dissertation stage) at programs of masters with thesis and master's without thesis taught theoretically and applied for courses. Program of masters with thesis consists of at least seven lessons providing that it doesn’t less total 21 credits, lecture on the specialized field, seminar, and thesis. Program of master's without thesis consist of at least ten lessons providing that it doesn’t less total 30 credits, and least a semester lesson of term project.
